Character Background and Description Sergei grew up in Russia as the middle sibling of three brothers. For reasons unknown to him, he and his parents left Russia when he was 15 and they moved to the United States- where Sergei would finish high school.
He studied computer science at MIT, but after his second year dropped out and traveled to the moon, where he very quickly found himself in debt due to a lack of marketable skills or ability to hold down a study job. Sergei, in his spare time, taught himself programming and was eventually able to briefly seize control of Rising Star Industries' internet homepage. A corporate hit squad and recruiter was deployed to his apartment around two days later with a threat- and a job offer.
Rising Star Industries had purchased his debt, and was going to hold it over him. If he worked for them in their cybersecurity division, they would slowly forgive his debt and eventually he'd be able to rise up the ranks as an engineer- once his debt had been forgiven, of course. He didn't bother asking the alternative- that was apparent.
